      4th Generation member of the Kirloskar Group started in 1888. Kirloskar Group manufactures Pumps, Engines and Compressors and other related products.

      Director of various Kirloskar companies and Vice Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

      He lives in Bangalore, Karnataka State and is responsible for bringing in major industry to this Indian State by setting up the automobile plant Toyota Kirloskar Motor. For this he has been recognised by the Government and presented with the "Suvarna Karnataka" award.

      Vikram started working in the family business after College, initially in production engineering. He designed and developed many processes and machine tools early in his career.

      He was involved in opening the import licensing for capital equipment while serving on the Government’s Development Council for Machine Tools in the late 1980’s. He has also served as the President of the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute in Bangalore. He continues to serve on the National Council of CII and is Chairman of the Technology committee. He is also serves on the Govt. of India Development Council for Automobiles and the National council for Electric Mobility. He has been elected as the Vice President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.

      Besides handling the manufacturing of the Kirloskar Group of companies, Vikram was instrumental in getting Toyota back to India and is responsible for the several joint ventures between Toyota and the Kirloskar group. Besides assembly of cars, the joint ventures manufacture motor components. A recent addition has been a transmission manufacturing plant which is successfully supplying Toyota in seven countries.

      Vikram has many hobbies. He used to make model airplanes and was part of the Aero Modeling Club at MIT and paints, sculpts and likes to cook. He also plays golf and enjoys going trekking with his wife and daughter.

      The Toyota business in India includes the following companies where Vikram is involved.

      1. Kirloskar Toyoda Textile Machinery Pvt. Ltd., manufacturing Spinning machines, Aluminum die-casting and auto components.
      2. Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., manufacturing cars.
      3. Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts Pvt. Ltd., manufacturing Axles, driveshafts, transmissions and currently expanding into engines.
      4. TG Kirloskar Pvt Ltd., manufacturing plastic parts.
      5. Denso Kirloskar India Pvt Ltd., Manufacturing heat exchangers and AC.

      Mr. Harkesh Mittal has been instrumental in giving a new vibrancy to promoting the innovation and entrepreneurial acumen among a wide section of Indian entrepreneurs ranging from simple rural industries to high end technological enterprises.

      His two decades long association with the Government has coincided with the beginning of India's economic liberalization initiatives. With his untiring efforts and personal initiative, Shri Mittal has made the innovation and entrepreneurship programme of Department of Science & Technology a much sought after programme by the individual entrepreneurs as well as by the industry and technological circles - not only in India but among the industrially advanced countries of the world.

      Shri Mittal has been instrumental in involving the private sector - both national and international- in the task of innovation and entrepreneurship development in India. Companies like Intel, TCS, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, P&G, The Economic Times, etc. have now been involved in this task and quite many of them are making matching contribution and are bringing world class technology commercialization knowledge to India.

      He is a member of the Global Councils of the World Economic Forum(WEF), Davos on fostering entrepreneurship. Member of the India US Endowment Board, Member-Secretary National Committee on Angel Investment and Early Stage VC funding of the Planning Commission.

      He is alumni of the National Dairy Research Institute (1981) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad(1984).

      S. Gopalakrishnan (Kris), along with N.R. Narayana Murthy and five others, founded Infosys in 1981. Kris served as Director (Technical) and his initial responsibilities included the management of design, development, implementation, and support of information systems for clients in the consumer products industry in the U.S.

      Between 1987 and 1994, Kris served as the Vice President for Technical Operations of KSA/Infosys, a joint venture between Infosys and KSA located in Atlanta, U.S. In 1994, he returned to India and was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Infosys.

      Recognized as a global business and technology thought leader, Kris was recently voted the top CEO (IT Services category) in Institutional Investor's inaugural ranking of Asia's Top Executives and selected as one of the winners of the 2nd Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards by Corporate Governance Asia. He was also selected to Thinkers 50, an elite list of global business thinkers compiled by Des Dearlove and Stuart Crainer, in association with the IE Business School, Madrid and the London Business School's Management Innovation Lab.

      In January 2011, the Government of India awarded Kris the Padma Bhushan, the country's third highest civilian honor. He has also represented Infosys and the country in such international forums as: The Indo-US CEO Council; President's Council of New York Academy of Sciences; and Member of UNESCO High-Level panel on Women's Empowerment and Gender Equity. Kris is also the Chairman of The Business Action for Sustainable Development 2012 (BASD), a coalition of international business groups committed to sustainable development.

      Kris is the President Designate of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and on the Board of Governors at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. He is also the Chairman of Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM), Kerala. He is a member of ACM, IEEE and IEEE Computer Society. Kris holds master's degrees in Physics and Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

      Graduated in Humanities from Presidency College, Kolkata. Masters from Delhi University and MBA from All India Management Association Delhi.

      Joined the Indian Defence Accounts Services in 1984. Worked in different capacities in the Ministry of Defence, notably as Deputy Financial Adviser (Navy), Director in the Ministry of Finance and in the last assignment as Controller of Defence Accounts in Chennai.

      Attended the Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration from IIPA Delhi in 2006-07 and obtained Masters in Public Policy from Punjab University. Attended several other training programmes such as 'Governance, Democratization and Public Policy' in Institute of Social Studies, Hague, 'Government Integrity' in International Law Institute, Washington and 'Local Government' under Commonwealth Programme in University of Birmingham.

      Presently JS&FA in DST/DBT with additional charge of CSIR/DSIR.

      Chandrajit Banerjee is the Director General of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

      Mr Banerjee has been with the CII for over 24 years and has been the Director General, CII since May 2008.

      Mr Banerjee is a Post-Graduate (MS) in Economics with specialisation on Economics of Planning and Econometrics from the University of Calcutta. Earlier, he did his Graduation from St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) in Economics (Hons).

      As Director General, he is responsible for overall operations of CII.

      Prior to his appointment as Director General, he held several senior positions in CII.

      Mr Banerjee has been responsible for important areas of work including the Sectoral Verticals - Manufacturing, Services, Agriculture and Life Sciences Sectors and the SMEs. He has led key policy work of CII in the areas of Economic Policy, Financial Services and Corporate Governance (he was also the First Executive Director of the National Foundation of Corporate Governance -NFCG, an organization set up by the Ministry of Company Affairs, Government of India). He continues to be in the Board of Trustees of NFCG as a Founder Trustee.

      Earlier Mr Banerjee has served as Head of CII's regional operations in the Northern, Southern and Western Regions.

      Over the years Mr. Banerjee has worked out of the CII-Headquarters in New Delhi for several years and has also been based at Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. He was also in Bangalore to initiate the Centre of Excellence of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), which is a state-of-the-art centre for training, conventions and trade fairs.

      Mr Banerjee is in various advisory committees of the Government of India. He is the Vice Chairman of the Asia Pacific Chapter of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. He is the Co-chairman of the Governing Council, Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC), a not for profit public private initiative of Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) and CII, established in 2007. Mr Banerjee is also a Member of the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi.

      Mr Banerjee has been honored with the China-India Friendship Award by the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao for his contributions towards the development of bilateral ties between India and China.

      With 63 offices including 10 Centres of Excellence in India, and 7 overseas offices in Australia, China, France, Singapore, South Africa, UK, and USA, as well as institutional partnerships with 224 counterpart organisations in 90 countries, CII serves as a reference point for Indian industry and the international business community

      After a distinguished academic career from Patna University, Arabinda Mitra started his professional assignment in 1985 as a research scholar in Delhi University, on a Department of Ocean Development Fellowship. In 1987 he joined the Department of Atomic Energy as a Scientific Officer, and was involved in the exploration geology of the Himalayas. In 1988, he was awarded the prestigious Cambridge Nehru Fellowship to pursue his doctoral research at the University of Cambridge, UK. His PhD project was jointly carried out with MIT, USA in the area of mid oceanic ridge hydrothermal systems. His research work was published in international journals like Nature, Marine Chemistry and Geo-chimica Cosmo- chimica Acta, Journal of Remote Sensing etc.

      In 1993, Dr. Mitra joined the Department of Ocean Development and was assigned the responsibilities of the Indian Antarctic Program. He has to his credit the planning and launching of several multidisciplinary experiments in the Indian Antarctic station, and inducting a strong element of international programs in the Antarctic program. He was nominated as the Indian representative to the international bodies like SCAR & COMNAP of the Antarctic Treaty.

      In 1998, Dr. Mitra moved to the National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research at Goa, in the capacity of Program Manager, Science. He played a pivotal role in formulating the long-term science strategy of the Indian Antarctic missions and also initiated the setting up of the low temperature ice core laboratory and the remote sensing laboratory at Goa.

      In the course of the above assignments, Dr. Mitra has won several academic awards like the ORS Award of UK; Bursary Award of St. Edmund?s College; UK and JSPS Award of Japan and was also elected as a Fellow of Geological Society, London. He was a member of the Indian expeditions to Antarctica and has undertaken several scientific cruises to the Indian, Atlantic & Pacific Oceans.

      In 2001, Dr. Mitra joined as a Director in the International Division of the Dept of Science & Technology, Government of India. He proficiently enriched the scope and contents of the DST-NSF cooperation through several new initiatives. In Nov 2004, Dr. Mitra was confirmed by the two governments as the first Executive Director of the bi-national Indo-US Science and Technology Forum. He has since added a new paradigm in the Indo-American S&T cooperation by bridging the performing science and technology groups in academic and research sectors of USA and India.

      Mr. Deep Kapuria schooled at Mayo College, Ajmer and graduated in Engineering from BITS, Pillani. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, USA. He has undergone specialized training in Management and Technology in USA, Germany, Japan & Austria.

      Mr. Deep Kapuria is the Chairman of the Hi-Tech Group of companies comprising Hi-Tech Gears, Hi-Tech e-Soft, Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz. The Group spans a spectrum of products and services that include transmission components, engineering design services and advanced technology enabled products & solutions at the forefront of cutting edge technology in the fields of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Vision and Embedded Systems. The Group primarily serves Automobile Manufacturers in the Indian subcontinent and renowned Tier-1 and 2 suppliers in the overseas markets.

      The “Hi-Tech’s” facilities have been awarded the International Coveted “Shingo Award” which has been awarded for the first time in India. In addition, besides having International Management Systems, all the Plants are recognized for “Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment” by JIPM (Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance) for TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Excellence. Has secured IGBC gold under IGBC green factory building rating system.
       
      In the last two decades, Mr. Kapuria has held a number of eminent positions in Industry and Government bodies and associations and has played an important role in many Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) initiatives, such as the World Trade / Multilateral talks. Mr. Kapuria has led various overseas CII/ACMA Delegations including the Mini PBD (2011) at Canada. In addition, he has also been invited as speaker for number of CII / ACMA / Industry conventions, seminars across the globe. These include;

      Navroze Godrej attended the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. Subsequently he joined Philips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, USA, and graduated in 2001. He then joined Boston College in Boston, USA and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and French. He is currently pursuing a Master of Design at the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

      Navroze joined the Company in October, 2005 as Manager, Special Projects, and has since focused on new product development and marketing and communications. His early projects include Godrej’s “Brighter Living” rebranding initiative and the re-design of the retail experience at sixty home furniture showrooms across India. In 2007, Navroze started to work on the company’s Disruptive Innovation initiatives, including chotuKool, a refrigerator intended for rural Indian markets. 

      Navroze has been actively involved at Godrej in the journey of Disruptive Innovation, and sees innovation as the key factor for survival and success. Navroze believes that the innovation process can be used for unlocking large untapped markets, foster inclusive growth and bring about a change of work culture in such a way that people feel inspired to do something new and different, everyday.
